Naturism: A Guide to Etiquette
If you've never been to a naturist center, know that the fundamental rule there is to undress in areas designated for nudity.
Contrary to what one might think, the fact that everyone is naked creates a relaxed atmosphere.. Indeed, clothes can sometimes separate us socially, but also psychologically. With naturism, all barriers fall. But to practice naturism, it's important to respect several values !
Respect
In naturism, we respect ourselves and others. Respect is fundamental. Respecting oneself means respecting one's body, that is, adopting a healthy lifestyle, doing what is best for it. Respecting others means not judging them, not excluding them, not offending them.
Tolerance
Tolerance is also a fundamental value in naturism. Being tolerant means accepting that others are different from us, that they have another way of being and thinking. Being tolerant does not mean imposing nudity; it's inviting, accompanying, guiding... It's also letting certain bad actions aimed at us pass. It's tolerance that allows, in naturist centers, even though nudity is the basic rule, to accept that the most modest teenagers wear a pareo.
Courtesy
A naturist must be courteous, as courtesy is the basis of conviviality and respect. Being courteous is not limited to saying hello to passersby or helping people in difficulty. It's also respecting the privacy of others and respecting the rules applied within the center.
On this point, don't forget to inform yourself about the regulations in force within the naturist establishment where you are going to stay before settling in. They differ from one establishment to another. In our naturist camp in Corsica, we pay particular attention to respecting these rules.
