Lagoon Trail
Discover the Diana and Terrenzana Lagoon Trail
In the immediate vicinity of the Corsican naturist campsite, the "Path of the Diana and Terrenzana lagoons" allows you to walk in an pristine landscape typical of Corsica´s eastern plain: salty lagoons bordering the sea. Come and discover our Corsican nature campsite.
Promoting sustainable development and environmental preservation, this trail has been entirely developed by the Conservatoire du Littoral de Corse (Corsican Coastal Conservatory) using a budget of €390,000, 60% of which is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
It offers a hike of about 3 hours without any particular difficulties. Several routes are possible; starting on foot from Riva Bella or, for shorter hiking times, from the 3 car parks located at different stages of the trail.
The hilly path winds its way between sea, lagoons and maquis scrub, arriving at a natural plateau that offers remarkable viewpoints for observing nature and wild flora and fauna (essentialy water birds). Note the presence of many species of migratory birds in autumn and spring. Landscape interpretation tables along the walk help you discover the history and culture of the site, a domain of fishermen and oyster farmers since antiquity.
Please note: naturism can be practiced on the Riva Bella health and park courses with the llamas but cannot be practiced on the path of the lagoons; this zone is not part of Riva Bella estate.
How to get to the Diana and Terrenzana Lagoons
From Riva Bella : 500m from the Thalasso going southwards, on the beach, take the "Sentier de Terrenzana" which goes into the scrub via one of the staircases enclosed by wooden fences (1). A loop leads back to Riva Bella in a little over an hour, but it is possible, about halfway along the way, to extend the walk by taking the second path, which runs along the Diana lagoon, and then return along the track at the crossroads of the two itineraries (2), also for about an hour.
From the main road : leaving Riva Bella, just one kilometre after taking the main T10 road towards Aleria, turn left (a brown sign indicates ‘Terrenzana’) (3) onto the small road lined with eucalyptus trees (signposted "Chasse Pasqualini"). Follow the dirt road to the right, following the sign "Accès pompier - u mare",
- or arrive at the "Pompugliani parking" from where the "Diana's trail" leads to the belvedere lookout (4)
- or continue on the track to the "Stationnement du col", at the crossroads of two paths (2)
- or go to the end of the (partially very bumpy) track to the "Large beach car park" from where the "Terrenzana trail" (5) starts.
